Clinton Cavett, M.D., attended junior high, high school, college, and medical school at the same intersection in Jackson, Mississippi. Currently, Dr. Cavett serves as an examination consultant for the American Board of Surgery as an oral examiner for physicians undergoing board certification in pediatric surgery. He has been a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association since 1984, having completed his pediatric surgery training at Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. In 2010, Dr. Cavett joined Community Health Network as the medical director of pediatric surgery.
As a pediatric surgeon, Dr. Cavett enjoys treating children from infancy to early adolescence. Dr. Cavett strives to defuse stressful situations for children and their parents by treating them as he would his own family members.
As a World War II enthusiast, Dr. Cavett has traveled to Iwo Jima, where he was given the opportunity to raise his own flag on Mount Suribachi. He has also traveled the “Band of Brothers” route through Western Europe, and walked Omaha Beach where Walter Ehlers and Bob Slaughter landed on D-day. He is married with three children and three grandchildren.
